Starting in the charming fishing village of Union Hall, we’ll lead you on a thrilling journey of about 20km through the winding roads and rolling hills of this picturesque region. Of course locally, a small road is called a boithrín and a small hill is known as a cnocán or a concánín.
Pedalling through tranquil woodlands and rugged coastlines, we will explore ancient ruins such as the penal era chapel, Séipéal an Stuaicín and towering castles such as Caisleán Rathín built by Domhnall Ó Donnabháin about 1584. With breathtaking views of Castlehaven Harbour, it still has Cromwell’s cannonballs embedded in its ancient walls.
