Holiday cottages for couples come in all shapes and sizes but with a jacuzzi bath in the bedroom, your own private hot-tub, a movie room and a large woodburning stove in the lounge they don’t get cosier than this.

Forget West Cork hotels, B&Bs and guest houses and try Cottages for Couples. A luxury cottage gives you more space, more privacy and more value for money. Riverbank Cottage and Riverbank Barn are authentic 150 year old traditional stone buildings that have been restored to offer luxurious self-catering accommodation.

Riverbank has been described as like a scene out of ‘Postman Pat’ – the quaint hump-back bridge spans the small river that gives the property its name and each afternoon at about 3pm the An Post van passes, signalling the rush hour.

Upon entering Riverbank Cottage you experience the feeling of being in an authentic cottage. Low ceilings, exposed beams and stone walls dominate but the modern luxuries are all here. The settee is adjacent to the large fireplace containing a woodburning stove. There is a large pine dining table and there is Smart TV with Netflix, Bluetooth speaker and retro turntable with a selection of classic LP’s  There is also wi-fi in this cottage (subject to network accessibility)

Through the metre wide thick walls you enter the galleried kitchen into what used to be the grain store. All the regular kitchen appliances are here and on the mezzanine floor above the kitchen is a movie room with cinema surround sound

But it is the bedroom that enchants. The old fashioned iron bed reminds you of days gone by but the bedroom jacuzzi bath provides modern day luxury. There is a separate bathroom with shower and second WC.

Outside your front door you can step into your very own luxurious hot-tub.

The buildings are enclosed by a stone courtyard and in front of the property, a small meadow slopes down to the small river. The location is peaceful and beautiful.

Pricing

• • All rates are euros and are inclusive of VAT
• • Rates based on minimum 2 night stay based on two sharing.
• • There is a MINIMUM 2-NIGHT STAY in all cottages at weekends and at all times in the treehouses with the following exceptions: i) where bookings fall to leave single nights available these can be booked. ii) where there is a block of 3 available nights, a single night can be booked but not the middle night.
• • There is a minimum 2 night stay in all cottages for all dates in July, August and September and at peak periods such as Valentines, post-Xmas and Easter with the same exceptions as above.
• • For one night stays there is a supplement of €30 to cover the cost of linen and cleaning which is usually spread over 2 nights.
• • Rates may change during public holidays, school holidays and certain prime dates.
